Ubuntu Collective is a partnership between a talented group of Zambian-based artists and women's collectives, and a Canadian-based lover of fair trade and social justice.
Our goal is simple:
We want to to celebrate African artists and support the beautiful work they do.
We specialize in one-of-a-kind, handmade African products that celebrate our interconnectedness and sustain disadvantaged communities through ethical and fair trade practice.
Your purchase provides direct financial support to Zambia's people and communities;
funding education initiatives for vulnerable children and providing job opportunities in disadvantaged townships.
Profits from every sale are reinvested into school projects in the communities in which the artists reside,
allowing young children to grow up with access to education and perhaps even offering them the chance
to become artists themselves.
We thank you for being part of our Ubuntu community and are most grateful for your support.
"One of the sayings in our country is Ubuntu - the essence of being human.
Ubuntu speaks particularly about the fact that you can't exist as a human being in isolation.
It speaks about our interconnectedness. You can't be human all by yourself,
and when you have this quality -- Ubuntu -- you are known for your generosity."
~Archbishop Desmond Tutu
